Mendocino County Housing Hub

Step 2 of 5

Write to the Board of Supervisors

We need to send as many letters as possible to the Board of Supervisors before their meeting on September 15, 2026. A short letter in your own words makes this personal in a way petitions can't.

By mail:
The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors
501 Low Gap Road
Ukiah, CA 95482
Envelopes have gravitas.

Online or by phone: you may use the public engagement function of the County's website to send an e-comment, or find instructions for leaving a voice message, at Public Engagement | Mendocino County, CA.

Please make your comments forward-looking, respectful, and constructive. We are asking our public servants to work for us to meet our needs. If you are personally impacted by this issue — or are close to someone who is experiencing full code enforcement without compassion — please tell your story however that is comfortable for you. If you are a business owner or manager, please describe how the lack of available and affordable housing is impacting your bottom line and your business practices.

Sample letters and talking points

Please copy and then personalize the text — tell your own story about how the lack of reasonable, community-centered code enforcement procedures has affected you, your neighbors, or your business.

Consider submitting a Case Testimonial to us

If you are personally impacted by enforcement actions please do consider telling us about it. Personal testimonials about harm experienced by our residents and businesses due to the county's practices are extremely compelling. Your story helps the community understand what is at stake. Please submit the form below and let us know if you wish to be identified to the BOS. No person will be identified to the general public or by name on this site.
